1. Tracee Ellis Ross introduces PATTERN body care line
Tracee Ellis Ross is expanding her celebrated beauty empire as PATTERN Beauty officially launches a new body care line. Known for her dedication to self-care and inclusivity in beauty, Ross shared that the expansion reflects her philosophy of honoring and nurturing the body as much as the hair. “Caring for my body is a daily practice of self-care and honoring, and I’m thrilled to share these essentials that support juicy & joyful skin,” Ross said in a statement. She added that while the conversation around “skin-ification of hair” has grown, she envisions the “hair-ification of skin,” extending PATTERN’s mission of hydration and celebration into body care.
The new PATTERN body care line features a range of essentials designed to deliver what Ross describes as “juicy and joyful hydration for hair and now body.” Products include a Dry Exfoliating Body Scrub, Moisturizing Body Wash, Nourishing Body Oil, Hydrating Body Lotion, and a Moisture Rich Body Cream, priced between $32 and $36. Customers can also purchase curated bundles such as the Daily Hydration Bundle ($57.80), Radiant Skin Trio ($93.60), and Body Full Bundle ($154.80). “When using these formulas, I want people to feel hydrated, radiant, and glowy. But mostly I want people to feel like themselves,” Ross said, emphasizing that the line is about honoring the skin with every use. PATTERN Body is now available for purchase online.

Afrobeat superstar Mr Eazi has announced the release of his new EP, Maison Rouge, set to drop on September 25 via his label, emPawa Africa. The project follows his 2023 album, The Evil Genius, and was recorded at the Hotel Maison Rouge in Cotonou, Benin, the same creative hub that inspired much of his earlier work. True to his artistry, Maison Rouge promises a blend of introspective storytelling and vulnerable expression, with lead singles “Casanova” and “Corny” already giving fans a taste of what’s to come. “Casanova,” produced by TMXO and Kel-P, pairs playful lyricism about love and temptation with a Barcelona-shot video directed by Ademola Falomo, while “Corny” delivers a mellow, melodic ode to romance. The EP also features “Attention,” a recent track spotlighted on the soundtrack of a blockbuster F1 film.
The announcement of Maison Rouge comes during a milestone year for Mr Eazi, both personally and professionally. In addition to his music, the singer recently married actress Temi Otedola in an intimate ceremony in Iceland, a union that quickly became a major cultural moment. Beyond his artistry, Eazi continues to expand his influence through emPawa Africa, his initiative dedicated to empowering and mentoring emerging African talent. While no 2025 tour dates have been confirmed, anticipation for the EP’s release is high, as fans await the next chapter in Mr Eazi’s ever-evolving soundscape.

Rapper BigXThaPlug was taken into police custody in Dallas just hours after celebrating the release of his new album, I Hope You’re Happy. According to Dallas County Jail records, the 27-year-old artist, born Xaviar Landum, was booked early Friday morning (Aug. 22) on charges of possession of marijuana under two ounces and unlawful possession of a firearm. No bond has been set at this time. The arrest came shortly after BigXThaPlug hosted a release party at the Deep Ellum nightclub on Thursday night, with a scheduled appearance at a Dallas Wingstop planned for Friday evening.
The incident follows a high-profile week for the rising rapper, who has been promoting I Hope You’re Happy, an 11-track project blending country and rap with features from Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Bailey Zimmerman, Shaboozey, and more. In a recent interview with The New York Times, BigXThaPlug described his creative process as a push to transcend genre boundaries, saying, “I feel like I’m not just a hip-hop artist—I want to be the best artist in the world.” His arrest has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a celebratory moment in his career.
4. Israeli strikes and gunfire kill 33 as Gaza City becomes the focus of famine and a military offensive

At least 33 Palestinians were killed Saturday in Gaza by Israeli strikes and gunfire, according to local hospitals, as famine deepens in Gaza City nearly two years into Israel’s offensive. Health officials reported that the dead included people sheltering in tents and others trying to reach dwindling food supplies. Seventeen were killed in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, more than half of them women and children, while five died near the Zikim crossing in the north as they sought aid. Among the casualties was cameraman Khaled al-Madhoun, whom the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said was deliberately targeted while covering events. The reports come just a day after the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification declared parts of Gaza in famine, with nearly half a million people facing catastrophic hunger.
The surge in violence coincides with warnings from Israel’s defense minister that Gaza City could face a new ground assault within days, despite widespread civilian displacement and mounting global concern. Aid groups, including Doctors Without Borders, report a marked increase in airstrikes since early August and say clinics are overwhelmed with patients fleeing the city. Israel has dismissed the famine declaration as false, while rights groups accuse it of restricting essential aid. Meanwhile, families of Israeli hostages continue to push for a ceasefire deal, fearing that an expanded offensive could jeopardize the lives of the 20 captives believed to be still alive. Ceasefire negotiations remain stalled, with Hamas insisting on an end to the war in exchange for hostage releases, and Israel signaling it will only negotiate on its own terms.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £60 million ($81m) plus add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 27-year-old England international joins on a long-term contract, becoming the Gunners’ seventh summer signing following Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. The move is a major coup for Arsenal, who swooped in to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Eze after a knee injury to Kai Havertz accelerated their need for an attacking reinforcement. Remarkably, the transfer marks a full-circle moment for Eze, who was released from Arsenal’s academy at the age of 13.
Manager Mikel Arteta hailed the signing, praising Eze’s mentality as much as his ability. “He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game,” Arteta told the club’s website, adding that Eze’s resilience and ambition align perfectly with Arsenal’s values. Eze, who has been handed the iconic No. 10 shirt, was officially presented ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with newly-promoted Leeds United, where he received a warm welcome from the home crowd at the Emirates. The attacking midfielder is expected to make his debut against Liverpool at Anfield on August 31, with his first home appearance set for September 13 against Nottingham Forest.
