Nearly 24 hours after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the FBI has released two photos of a person of interest in what authorities are calling a targeted political killing. The images show an individual wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a long-sleeve black shirt, believed to have fled through a wooded area near Utah Valley University moments after firing a single shot from a distant rooftop. The gunman, who remains unidentified and at large, is the focus of an intensive federal and local manhunt, with a $100,000 reward now offered for information leading to an arrest.
Investigators have uncovered a palm print and a shoe impression near the scene, as well as a Mauser .30-caliber bolt-action rifle concealed in a towel, found along a suspected escape path. The weapon contained three live rounds and one spent cartridge, and is currently undergoing forensic testing. Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and a key ally of President Donald Trump, was killed on Wednesday in broad daylight while speaking at his “American Comeback Tour” on campus. The shooting, captured in graphic social media footage, has reignited national debate over political violence. President Trump condemned the attack and announced Kirk would be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, while Vice President JD Vance paid tribute to Kirk’s legacy, calling him instrumental in shaping the current administration.

South African rapper and songwriter Maglera Doe Boy continues to break international ground, with his track “Italy” featured in the highly anticipated horror film HIM, produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele. The Free State-born artist, real name Tokelo Moyakhe, took to social media to share the news, writing: “My song ‘Italy’ is featured on the soundtrack for the new Jordan Peele movie ‘HIM’ coming out on the 19th of September.” The film, directed by Justin Tipping and set for release on September 19, stars Tyriq Withers as a promising football player whose path to stardom takes a dark and twisted turn at the hands of a mysterious mentor, played by Marlon Wayans.
This marks another international milestone for Maglera Doe Boy, who earlier this year was featured on the soundtrack of Godfather of Harlem Season 4, curated by Swizz Beatz.
