Offset is facing new legal troubles after a security guard filed a lawsuit accusing the rapper of assault and battery. According to reports, Jim Sanchez, a security guard at MedMen LAX, claims the former Migos member attacked him during an incident in March. Sanchez alleges that when he asked the 33-year-old artist for identification, Offset “became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face.” The guard further claims that several individuals with the rapper joined in the assault. He was later hospitalized and says he continues to suffer from headaches and neck pain. Sanchez is suing for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Offset and his team, however, have denied the allegations, insisting that the security guard was the aggressor. They allege Sanchez “rushed” the rapper and “spat on him,” sparking the altercation. Reports indicate that the confrontation occurred around 9:30 p.m., with sources claiming that Sanchez responded by using mace to defend himself. Offset’s representatives called the lawsuit “ridiculous,” arguing that the rapper had “just gotten off a flight” and therefore would have had proper identification in his possession. The assault lawsuit marks another difficult chapter for Offset, who has been navigating personal and professional challenges throughout the year.

Nigeria’s Lagos Fashion Week has earned global acclaim after being named one of the winners of this year’s prestigious Earthshot Prize, recognized for its groundbreaking commitment to sustainable fashion. The award was presented during a glittering ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, attended by Britain’s Prince William, who launched the initiative to spotlight global environmental innovation. Lagos Fashion Week received the honor in the Build a Waste-Free World category, celebrating its efforts to reshape the fashion industry through local craftsmanship, textile recycling, and ethical production practices.
The platform has been instrumental in leading Africa’s transition toward eco-conscious design, empowering a new generation of designers to prioritize sustainability. Founded in 2020 by Prince William in partnership with Sir David Attenborough, the Earthshot Prize honors projects tackling some of the planet’s most urgent environmental challenges. This year’s edition saw nearly 2,500 nominations from 72 countries, with Lagos Fashion Week joining other winners including Brazil’s re.green for AI-driven forest restoration, Bangladesh’s Friendship for climate resilience, Bogotá for clean air initiatives, and the UN High Seas Treaty for ocean protection. The star-studded event, featuring performances from Anitta, Gilberto Gil, Shawn Mendes, Kylie Minogue, and Seu Jorge, came just days ahead of the UN Climate Summit (COP30), where Prince William urged world leaders to act boldly, declaring that “there is no time for complacency” in addressing the climate crisis.

Air travel across the United States is facing widespread disruption as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ordered airlines to reduce flights at 40 of the nation’s busiest airports starting Friday, citing safety concerns linked to the ongoing government shutdown. Nearly 500 flights scheduled for Friday were canceled by Thursday afternoon, more than four times the number of cancellations earlier in the day, according to FlightAware. The FAA directive, which calls for a phased 10% reduction in flight schedules, will affect major hubs like Atlanta, Denver, Miami, and San Francisco. United Airlines confirmed it will cut 4% of its weekend flights, while other carriers scramble to adjust schedules and rebook passengers.
The FAA said the cuts are necessary to ease pressure on air traffic controllers who have been working without pay since the shutdown began on October 1. Many have been forced to work mandatory overtime, leading to mounting fatigue and a surge in call-outs. The disruptions, which could impact as many as 1,800 flights and 268,000 passengers daily, come just weeks before the holiday travel rush. Airlines, including United, Delta, and American, have pledged full refunds for canceled trips, but travelers like Fallon Carter of New York have already canceled plans out of uncertainty.

Global music superstar Burna Boy (born Damini Ogulu) has revealed a deeply personal chapter of his life, sharing that he converted from Christianity to Islam but is still searching for spiritual clarity. Speaking in a candid interview with streamer Plaqueboymax, the Grammy Award-winning artist reflected on his faith journey, saying, “I grew up as a Christian, but then I converted to Islam and all types. It is like I have studied it all. I am still out here trying to find what is really going on.” Raised in a Christian household in Nigeria, Burna explained that his early faith was more of an inheritance than a personal choice, adding that the more he researched religion, “the more confused” he became.
Burna Boy’s reflections reveal a man questioning the structures that define belief. Describing religion as “a controlled mechanism,” he said every doctrine he studied conflicted with science in some way, leaving him to conclude that while he believes in a creator, organized religion only adds to his confusion. This tension mirrors themes in his music, from the introspective “Level Up (Twice As Tall)” to “Common Person,” where he often wrestles with identity and purpose. Known for defying authority, from rejecting his small billing at Coachella to asserting his individuality through his album No Sign of Weakness, Burna Boy continues to challenge expectations, including those surrounding faith. His openness about spiritual uncertainty strikes a chord with many young Nigerians facing similar struggles between inherited religion and personal belief, proving that even global icons are still searching for meaning in a world full of contradictions.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has died at the age of 24, the team confirmed on Thursday. In a statement, the Cowboys described Kneeland as “a beloved teammate and member of our organization,” extending condolences to his girlfriend, Catalina, and his family. According to Frisco police, the rising NFL star appeared to have taken his own life from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities reported that the police department responded to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety with locating a vehicle that evaded troopers during a pursuit that entered the city at approximately 10:39 p.m. on Wednesday.
DPS troopers found Kneeland’s vehicle crashed on the southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway. According to the report, Kneeland fled the scene on foot after the crash and was later found early Thursday morning. The cause of death will be determined by the Collin County medical examiner’s office.
Kneeland, a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan, had been carving out a promising career and recently scored his first touchdown during Monday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. His agent, Jonathan Perzley, and former college coach, Lance Taylor, paid emotional tributes, describing him as a hard-working, kind, and inspiring young man who left a lasting impact both on and off the field. The NFL also expressed its condolences, offering support and counseling resources to the Cowboys. Kneeland’s death comes as a devastating loss to the football community and to fans who had watched him rise as one of Dallas’s most promising young defenders.
