Hi friends! I’ve been doing a little fall shopping lately, and I have a fun try-on haul to share today with new pieces from both Nordstrom and EVEREVE. Some were online orders that have been trickling in, and others are from an in-store try-on I did with Cyndi in Nashville. I’ve been on the hunt for versatile fall pieces, especially full-length jeans I can wear with sneakers and clogs, but a few other sweaters, coats, and shoes made their way into my cart too.
As usual, I will provide measurements and fabric content on each item when I can find it, and I’ll share whether I plan to keep it or not. Just remember, even when I decide not to keep something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. I just may not need it, or it may not work for my body type or lifestyle.
SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 or 30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

MY THOUGHTS: Before I decided to get my washed black MOTHER Rollers shortened, I ordered a couple of similar washed black wide-leg jeans with shorter inseams. I’ve tried the FRAME Le Slim Palazzo several times in the past, and something about them always feels a little off, but I thought I’d give them another chance. (I guess I’m a glutton for punishment, haha!)
As styles evolve, what I’m looking for in denim changes too, so I figured they were worth revisiting. I must have been feeling optimistic because I ordered the 29, even though I’ve been wearing a 30 in most premium denim lately. (FRAME denim often runs big, though, so it felt like a safe gamble.)
As it turns out, I don’t hate the silhouette, and I do like the wash, but they’re still a tad too long for flats. I also should have gone with the 30. They’re uncomfortably snug in the waist and create a bit of a muffin top in this ribbed top, which only becomes more noticeable when I sit down or bend over.
VERDICT: I decided to return these and wait to see how the MOTHER jeans fit once I get them back. I’m not sure they’ll work with flats since I had them shortened to wear with my low-heeled booties, but we’ll see!

Paige Anessa High Waist Wide Leg Jeans in Black Distressed

MY THOUGHTS: I already have the PAIGE Anessa in a blue wash that I love, so I thought I’d try this black wash too. I’ve been struggling to feel comfortable in the 29 that I own, so I ordered these in the 30. They’re also a tad too long for flats, though. I’m not sure if my blue pair came shorter (maybe that’s the difference between the 29 and 30) or maybe (hopefully?) they’d shrink up a bit in the wash. I never put my jeans in the dryer, though, so I have a feeling these are just a little longer overall.
They do have a raw hem, so they’d be easy to cut if needed. I also like the feel of the slightly higher rise and the fact that there’s less of a muffin top in these, but they’re still tighter than I’d like, even in the 30.
When comparing measurements, I noticed that this pair and the FRAME Le Slim Palazzo both have a 22″ leg opening, while the MOTHER Roller has a 24 1/2″ leg opening, so these don’t create quite as much volume at the bottom. I think that’s more flattering on me, especially with flats, so I could see keeping one of these slimmer wide-leg options for flats and reserving the MOTHER Roller for wearing with low heels.
VERDICT: I prefer a finished hem, so I think I’ll order the FRAME pair in a 30 while they’re on sale, and see how I feel about those.
Frame The Lax High Waist Flare Jeans in Set List

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve had these for a while, but I pulled them out to compare—and also to try with my new Docle Vita Vaydin Booties. This pair is more of a relaxed flare, with a rigid 100% cotton fabrication and a button fly, and I love the long, lean silhouette.
In the 29, they’re snug, but 100% cotton denim usually gives a little with wear, so I need to wear them around the house and see if they’ll loosen up enough to be comfortable.
They have a 32.5″ inseam, so I have to wear them with a higher heel. These booties have a 2.68″ heel, and they just barely work—a 3″ heel would be ideal. I’m going to throw them in the wash and see if they take up enough to work with these.
VERDICT: I already own these, so they’re obviously keepers, as long as I can get them to loosen up a bit in the waist. I also wanted to point out that they’re part of the EVEREVE sale this weekend!

MY THOUGHTS: This is the pair I’m having hemmed, and since I keep mentioning them, I thought I’d show you how they look for comparison’s sake. I love this pair, they’re so flattering! They definitely have a wider leg opening, but it almost reads as a dramatic flare rather than a voluminous wide-leg style.
They’re also super stretchy and comfortable, with great recovery, and they never lose their shape. The 11″ rise is nice and high and holds everything in. A splurge for sure, but worth every penny in my opinion, especially if you can catch them on sale.
VERDICT: Love these. They’re definite keepers, but I’m having them hemmed so I can wear them with my lower-heeled boots.

MY THOUGHTS: I ordered this top in both ivory and black, as I’ve been needing some more basic tops to wear under jackets. I do wish they weren’t so long in the body and the sleeves, but I like the mixed ribbing details and the classic fit.
I ordered the medium because of the body-con style, and I like that it isn’t super clingy through the middle, but I feel like the small is probably the right size and might not feel quite so long. It’s hard to say… but I don’t really love it.
VERDICT: I’m undecided on these. I’ll probably keep the tags on and see if I reach for them, but I’ll also keep an eye out for something similar that’s a little shorter and not as long in the sleeves.

MY THOUGHTS: This longline raincoat is similar to my London Fog, but it’s a little longer. I really like the olive color, along with the contrasting black buttons and leather button loops (if that’s what they’re called!). It also has a great fit and a fun plaid lining.
VERDICT: Kept it! I’ve already worn it several times and even brought it with me to Tennessee earlier this week.
Nordstrom Cashmere Sweater Hoodie in Ivory Sand

MY THOUGHTS: I love having a cashmere hoodie (or two) in my closet. They’re luxe yet sporty—perfect for my casual lifestyle—and they look great layered under vests or jackets. Nordstrom almost always carries a few options, and I think their cashmere sweaters offer really good value for the price point.
This year’s version has a classic fit with a modern 23 1/2″ length—not too long, but not cropped either—and I love the raglan sleeves. It comes in ivory and navy, and there’s also a grey version here. (I think it’s the same one, though it’s listed separately—maybe because it was part of the #NSale.)
Fit tip: I’d say these run true to size. The small fits me perfectly, but you could size up for a more relaxed fit.
VERDICT: Keeping! I love this ivory color—it’s softer than white but not too warm for my cool skin tone. I also like the fit of the small; it’ll be easier for layering and still looks fine on its own.
Faint H2O Waterproof Chelsea Boot in Dark Brown Suede H2o

MY THOUGHTS: I don’t have a better picture of these, but I wanted to include them because they’re really good! I love the subtle Western styling and the 1 1/2″ heel, and the brown suede is gorgeous. But the best part is, they’re waterproof!
VERDICT: Keeping these, for sure.
Nordstrom Crewneck Wool & Cashmere Sweater in Beige Oatmeal Lit Heather

MY THOUGHTS: This sweater is a beautiful knit, thick and plush, and it has really pretty details, but I don’t care for the longer length. It cuts me in half and draws the eye to my hips, creating more visual bulk exactly where I don’t want it.
VERDICT: This one is going back.
EVEREVE Fitting Room Try-Ons in Nashville
When I was in Nashville with Cyndi last week (well, Franklin, actually!), we spent a few hours in EVEREVE trying on clothes, and we each made a few purchases. I wish I’d known everything was going on sale the next day! But anyway, the sales associates were lovely and very helpful, and we really enjoyed shopping with them (and together!).

I was specifically on the hunt for full-length straight-leg jeans that I can wear with sneakers and my new Birkenstock Boston clogs. Lately, I’ve been struggling to put together more casual outfits and realized this is a hole in my closet. Sometimes I don’t want to wear wide-leg jeans with flats (and I only have one pair right now that’s the right length for them, and some days those feel too tight anyway).

And for whatever reason, I’m not loving my new MOTHER Insider Flood with sneakers and clogs.

Good American Good Legs Straight in Indigo 1012

MY THOUGHTS: I knew these weren’t a full-length style, but I thought they might be worth a try anyway. I like the lighter wash for casual looks, and the 14″ leg opening is a little wider than my MOTHER Dazzlers (12.5″), which makes them feel a bit more modern.
I used to wear a 6 in Good American jeans, so I wanted to try the 8, but they didn’t have it in-store, so I tried the 10. They’re very comfortable, but they may be a tad too big. I thought they looked okay… but just okay. I couldn’t really get excited about them.
VERDICT: I ended up leaving these behind, but I’d be curious to see how the size 8 looks and feels.

MY THOUGHTS: The PAIGE Cindy has been around forever. It used to be a skinny, but it looks like they’ve adjusted it a bit to be more of a slim straight. The measurements are quite similar to the Good American Good Legs Straight, and the fit is similar too, but for some reason, I find these more flattering. Maybe it’s the darker wash, or the fact that they’re a size or two smaller. I’m not sure how the 29 fits, but it does!
VERDICT: I ended up buying these. Even though they aren’t full length, they have a more modern straight silhouette, and I feel like the ankle-length style will come in handy. It looks great with these Mary Janes, and I’m hoping I’ll like them with sneakers too.

MY THOUGHTS: I was immediately drawn to this sweater for its rich evergreen color and the scoop neckline with a rolled edge. Most cardigans are either V-neck or crewneck, so I love this softer shape. It also has a subtle batwing sleeve that gives it a relaxed, effortless vibe, and it can easily be dressed up for a cozy holiday gathering or worn more casually for everyday wear.
It’s not amazing quality, and honestly, I feel the price is a bit steep for what it is, but it’s super soft and comfortable—and it’s currently on sale!
VERDICT: I did purchase this, but I also ordered the small to compare.

Honestly, I’m having a hard time remembering all of my thoughts on these, but they looked a lot better with the heeled boots, and I don’t really need more jeans to wear with heels.

VERDICT: I passed on this one, as well, but I have ordered the Bex Collared Top to try. Something about the satin collar and placket really appeals to me.

MY THOUGHTS:I’ve had my eye on these ever since I first saw them online earlier in the season, but I never ordered them. I’m not usually one to wear patterned pants, but I like this muted leopard print, and it’s very on-trend right now.
I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to try them on in-store without potential return shipping fees. If I were going to wear leopard print pants, they’d need to be something more subtle like these, but even though the print is more muted, they’re still a little too wild for me. Haha… I couldn’t resist! I also think they’re too big, and they didn’t have the 8 to try.
VERDICT: I passed on these, but they’re really fun. If they’re your jam, they’re on sale right now!

MY THOUGHTS: Okay, so this is the silhouette I had in mind when I went looking for relaxed, full-length straight-leg jeans! Even though they seem to fit every model online more like an ankle length, I feel like they work well as a full length for more casual looks. They do seem to run big, though. The size 30 was comfortable, but I think I could size down.
I went out into the store and tried these with the Birkenstock Boston clogs they had on display, and they looked really good together—the sales associate agreed! She also thought I could size down, so she grabbed the Brinley w Release Hem in a 29 to compare, which I tried and liked a lot. (I forgot to get pictures) I noticed the reviews at Nordstrom say they run really big, so that tracks.
VERDICT: I ended up ordering this light wash in the 29, and I can’t wait to get them and try them on with sneakers and clogs.

MY THOUGHTS: I had this top last year, so I already knew I liked it. I grabbed it to try on with these coated black pants—it’s such a great little party top. I’ll try mine on at home first before making a final decision on that.
VERDICT: Still deciding, but I may order the medium while it’s on sale.

VERDICT: I bought these, but I might return them if I end up liking the flares better. We’ll see!

MY THOUGHTS: I love this jacket, but for the record, I do not care for it with the gold top, and I probably wouldn’t wear the red boots either. They just brought them to me so I’d have a heel to work with in the fitting room.
The jacket itself, though, is super cute. I love the short and boxy (but not cropped) fit, and the faux leather collar (and cuffs, if you flip them up) give the preppy wool plaid an edgy juxtaposition.
Fit Tip: It runs true to size, or size down if you’re in between. This is the small, and it fits perfectly.
VERDICT: I bought this one!
EVEREVE Mack Zip Jacket

MY THOUGHTS: I love this jacket, but the small is way too small, so we ordered the medium. It’s a faux leather-like fabric that’s super soft and stretchy, and it’s lighter than leather, so it’s very comfortable and highly versatile.
I tried it on over this leopard print dress, which is way too much for my taste, to say nothing of the red booties, lol! But I can see this look working for someone else. It really is fun.
VERDICT: I ordered the medium, so I’ll take photos with an outfit I might actually wear once I get it.
