Beauty gifts are always welcome in my book! I love to give them and get them so I can try new products. Today, I’m sharing what I think are some of the best beauty gifts from Nordstrom this season. They have a large selection at great prices, plus many gifts with purchase.
I fell in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Lip Liners this fall because of their no-smudge, waterproof formula that lasts for hours and doesn’t feather or transfer. I shared my favorites here. I’ve been branching out to try her other products and am thrilled with what I’ve found.
Eyes
This Legendary Brows Micro-Precision Tinted Brow Gel is pretty amazing. It comes in Dark Brown, Black Brown, Soft Brown, and Taupe, which is perfect for my graying brows. It has a teeny, tiny brush that allows me to capture and tint every little hair I can find along my brow line. I brush them down to coat the hairs, then up to set them in place.
Next, I tried her Luxury Eyeshadow Palette. She makes 6 different quads of 4 harmonious shades so you can create an entire look. Most of them include a gleaming or “frosted” shadow” which I already have in the liquid, so I went with the Sophisticate Palette, which is all cool-toned and matte.
First, I covered my entire lid with the palest color, then I dabbed the next lightest color in the center of my lid next to my lashes and dusted the darkest color around the outside and in the crease.
This is a smokier look, which I could also deepen by putting a small, thin line of the deepest color under my bottom lashes. I love that Charlotte Tilbury is a cruelty-free brand, and the products perform like what you would expect from a professional makeup artist.
Hair
Nordstrom has several kits from the Oribe Haircare Line, but since I know I love this Dry Texturizing Spray, I thought I should get this kit. Make no mistake…these make great gifts, but I bought this kit for me 😉.
The kit contains a travel-sized Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo, Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner, and the Dry Texturizing Spray. Too often, I’ve expected to use the hotel shampoo and conditioner, only to discover it has lousy ingredients that leave my hair feeling like straw. These sizes are perfect for travel, and I’ll know my hair is in good hands. I love that Oribe is cruelty-free and sulfate-free.
This Dry Texturizing Spray is a great alternative to dry shampoo but so much more. Dry shampoo can leave a white or powdery residue, but this spray is invisible in your hair. It adds volume and texture while absorbing any oil at the roots and gives your hair an instant lift. After I’ve blow-dried my hair (or anytime it’s looking flat), I lift my hair and spray at the roots, then spray the top to set lightly.

PS, I also bought this Maximista Thickening Spray last summer on the advice of a reader, and it is fabulous! It protects my hair thermally before blow drying and adds extra oomph to my hair.
As you know, I struggle with thinning hair, so I try to do everything I can to protect and nurture it. Imagine my surprise when a pal laughed her head off to learn I used a bath towel on my hair! I’ve always used a bath towel and never knew otherwise until she told me about this Volo Hair Towel.

In other news, I’ve ordered this Intensive LED Therapy Brush and am very excited for it to arrive. I’m a big believer in LED light therapy for the skin and hair, plus this has a massaging action that increases blood flow to your scalp. I tried a light therapy helmet, but it was too heavy and cumbersome for me to use on a regular basis, so I stopped using it. This is small enough that I can use it anywhere, plus it’s portable enough to travel with. I will keep you posted on my progress.
SKIN
I’ve been using this Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum each morning for the last 6 months and really, really love it. It’s a stable form of vitamin C that’s highly effective but does not oxidize like ascorbic acid, so it stays fresh to the last drop. I particularly love the airless pump, which keeps the product free from contamination.
The bottle is glass, which is heavy to travel with, so I bought this Weekend Getaway Morning Kit, which includes a tiny bottle I can pack when I travel.
