Until recently, I had never heard of Last Crumb, at least not until an intriguing email landed in my inbox. Having just written about Crumbl Cookies, I was surprised to see a subject line offering condolences on behalf of “the global standard for luxury cookies.” The message? “Ordinary cookies are for ordinary people, and you deserve better.” They invited me to experience Last Crumb, claiming my life would never be the same. So, I took the plunge, and let me tell you: it truly was an experience.
What is Last Crumb?
Founded in 2020, Last Crumb is an LA-based, direct-to-consumer cookie company that has become a viral sensation on social media, particularly TikTok. Dubbed the “Rolex of cookies,” the brand is known for its ultra-premium, handcrafted treats that arrive in sleek packaging, with collections priced at $120 or more per box.
Unlike competitors like Crumbl or Levain Bakery, Last Crumb doesn’t have physical storefronts. Instead, the company operates on a drop model (similar to limited-edition products), where cookies are released in curated collections. Currently, the only available purchase is the Core Collection, a box of 12 cookies that showcases their signature flavors. Limited-edition sets are also launched throughout the year, but you can’t buy individual cookies—you have to commit to a full dozen to try them out.
Each cookie is crafted with high-end ingredients, including vanilla sourced from an undisclosed tropical location and chocolate from an exclusive French purveyor. Orders ship fresh and can last up to two weeks at room temperature or two months in the freezer. However, there’s no cooling box included, so freshness upon arrival may vary depending on location and shipping time.
The unboxing experience
When my Last Crumb Core Collection arrived, I was immediately impressed by the luxurious presentation. The large, matte black box looked more like designer packaging for high-end shoes or a luxury handbag than a cookie box. Inside, 12 individually wrapped cookies sat in a compartmentalized tray, each in its own spot. The phrase “Never Crumble” was written inside the lid and a 40-page booklet detailed the experience I was about to have. Yes, they wrote an entire booklet about cookies (and I wasn’t complaining).
Each cookie is large, about the size of my palm, and hefty. The instructions recommended warming them up for 15 seconds before eating, which I found helped enhance the texture, especially for chocolate-heavy flavors.
My taste test of Last Crumb
Before diving in, I want to preface my review by saying these cookies pack a punch. They aren’t your typical grocery store sweets—they’re dense, indulgent and loaded with premium ingredients. So, I enlisted my boyfriend to help with the taste test, who found some flavors to be intensely sugary.
The standout flavors

As a chocoholic, my absolute favorite was Better Than Sex (Chocolate Chip). This was hands-down one of the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had. The exterior had a slight sheen, the inside was gooey with so much chocolate and the touch of sea salt elevated the flavor. It struck the perfect balance between chewy and crispy, but not underbaked.
Another highlight was The Floor is Lava (Chocolate Lava Cake). This cookie transported me back to childhood, when I would beg my dad to drive me to Applebee’s so I could order their molten lava cake. Of course, this cookie tastes better. When warmed, the chocolate ganache filling oozed out, making each bite feel decadent.
My boyfriend’s top pick was The Madonna (Peanut Butter). This one was packed with peanut butter flavor, featuring natural peanut butter swirls, peanut butter cups and milk chocolate. It wasn’t intensely rich, which he appreciated.
We also enjoyed Netflix and Crunch (Cinnamon Toast Crunch), which had a delightful cinnamon streusel topping and a creamy vanilla swirl that mimicked the flavor of a cinnamon roll. Macadamnia (Salted Caramel Macadamia) was another winner, boasting toasted macadamia nuts, white chocolate and a perfectly balanced caramel drizzle.
The other favorites

I liked The James Dean (Oreo Milkshake) for its malted milk and Oreo chunks. It also had the toastiest complexion and nutty flavor. But overall, I still preferred the other chocolate-heavy cookies. Not Today Mr. Muffin Man (Blueberry Muffin) had an excellent streusel topping that tasted just like a muffin top. But the blueberries inside weren’t as juicy or large as I wanted them.
Donkey Kong (Banana Cream Pie) was a pleasant surprise, featuring a natural banana flavor that didn’t taste artificial (a rarity in banana-flavored desserts). It had a great texture, though I’m biased in saying I don’t normally choose banana-flavored desserts.
The ones I loved (less)

While I appreciated the variety, a few flavors didn’t quite hit the same high notes for me. When Life Gives You Lemons (Lemon Bar Cookie) had a strong citrus kick, but my boyfriend and I found it tasted a little artificial. S’mores Sans Campfire (S’mores) was enjoyable but slightly lacked the strong graham cracker presence I was hoping for. Kudos to the sticky toasted marshmallow, though!
Everything But The Candles (Birthday Cake) had an authentic birthday cake flavor, but it was by far the messiest, staining my fingers with colorful frosting. And finally, What The Velvet (Red Velvet) was the richest of them all. So rich, in fact, that I could barely finish it. It might be a dream for red velvet lovers, but for me, it was a bit overwhelming. I also (admittedly) don’t love cream cheese.
Are last Crumb Cookies worth the price?
Before trying them, I would have scrunched my nose at $120 for box of cookies. However, after experiencing them firsthand, I understand the appeal. The quality, branding and attention to detail make them worthwhile if you splurge. With that said, I believe they give Crumbl some tough competition (barring the price).
Would I buy them for myself? Probably not as an everyday indulgence. But for a special occasion, a unique gift or an over-the-top dessert table addition, I think they’re worth trying at least once. If Last Crumb ever offered individual cookies, I wouldn’t hesitate to spend $10 on that ridiculously good chocolate chip cookie.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a cookie that’s both a conversation starter and a decadent treat, Last Crumb lives up to the hype. Just make sure you’re ready for an intensely rich experience. And maybe have a glass of milk (or three) on hand.
