Have you found your perfect pair of wide leg jeans yet?
If not, maybe you’re still holding tight to your trusty skinnies… or perhaps you just haven’t found a pair that flatters your shape. Either way, I’ve got you covered.
Let’s be clear—while skinny jeans still have their place (hello, tall boots!), wide leg jeans are the silhouette right now—and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Still skeptical? Just take a look at any major retailer’s denim section. Chances are, you’ll spot more wide leg options than skinnies.
When it comes to finding your perfect pair, it’s all about the fit, fabric, rise, and inseam—don’t worry, I’ll walk you through exactly what to look for.
In this post, I’m sharing three wide leg jeans that I personally own, wear, and recommend—styles that not only look amazing but also feel just right. These are the jeans that have earned their place in my closet… and I think they might earn a spot in yours too.
Huge thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own and I only work with brands I love.

the best wide leg jeans
So, you’re finally ready to give looser-fitting denim a try…
Yay, you! That’s a big step—and a stylish one.
But—finding the right wide leg jeans can feel like a full-time job. (I’ve tried on and returned more pairs than I can count over the years… Dozens!) The search is tricky because you all have unique body shapes, sizes, heights, and personal style preferences.
To make things even more challenging, we’ve spent years being conditioned to wear super-skinny, ultra-tight denim. So adjusting to a roomier silhouette? It’s not just a wardrobe shift—it’s a mindset shift.
But that’s exactly why I’m here.
My mission is to make your life easier—with curated shopping suggestions and style tips you can actually use. After a lot of trial and error, I’ve narrowed it down to three wide leg jeans that stand out above the rest. They’re flattering, comfortable, and versatile enough to work into any wardrobe.
Ready to meet your new denim go-tos? Let’s dive in…
1. Rag & Bone Logan Wide Leg Jeans
First on the list of the best wide leg jeans, is the Logan jeans by Rag & Bone. I picked these up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer and have worn them SO many times. The drape is beautiful—it skims over the body without clinging, even around the tummy, which instantly makes them more comfortable and confidence-boosting. The gray wash is a perfect neutral color, and it can easily be dressed up or down. They are modern, yet classic enough to wear for years and years to come. The fabric is ultra soft and comfortable, and they’re a good stepping stone into the wide leg fit. Not the bell-bottoms from the 70’s, or an extremely wide silhouette that might feel like too much if you’re just trying this style for the first time.
I styled these jeans with a sleek black (affordable) turtleneck, a black belt, mesh pointed toe mules, and earrings with just enough sparkle to dress up the look. This outfit is perfect for date night, going out with friends, casual Friday’s at the office, or even brunch this fall and winter. To dress this down, swap the heels for platform sneakers and a crewneck sweater or a tee and blazer for an edgy, casual outfit. The possibilities here really are endless!

2. L’Agence Scottie Wide Leg Jeans
Next on the list is a pair of jeans that’s been my favorite since last year. I own this style in multiple colors and washes, and they’ve been a Busbee Best Seller since 2024, which means many of you already love them too! These jeans are sooo soft—they have just the right amount of stretch, making them ridiculously comfortable to wear all day. The rise sits slightly lower than the other jeans I’m featuring here, and honestly, it feels refreshing! If you’re tired of only high-rise denim, the L’Agence Scottie will feel like a breath of fresh air.
The dark wash with subtle center fading is also a major bonus! It visually slims and elongates your legs. It’s one of those small design details that makes a huge difference. To keep the lengthening effect going, I love pairing these with pointed toe booties in darker neutrals like black or chocolate brown.
These jeans feel a bit more elegant, paired with the exact same top and accessories as I showed with the Logan jeans. They can take you into fall and winter effortlessly, and can be paired with any sort of top you love, just make sure to keep the waist definition with a belt, half tuck, full tuck, or a top untucked in a darker color.
3. Paige Anessa Wide Leg Jeans
Last, but certainly not least on the list of the best wide leg jeans is the Paige Anessa jean. When I’m craving something a little more casual and laid-back, this is the pair I grab. They’re super soft and comfy, with a lighter wash that gives off that effortless, cool vibe that makes them so easy to wear. I picked this pair up last year in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and instantly fell in love! They’re a Busbee favorite for so many reasons.
The 31-inch inseam makes them super versatile—you can easily wear them with sneakers, flat sandals, or a block heel. Plus, they have a raw hem so if you’re petite you can simply cut them off to be just the right length. While the lighter wash feels more relaxed, they’re still polished enough to style up with a blazer or a pretty blouse. These jeans just work no matter how you wear them.
I paired them with the Rails chambray shirt for a chic Western inspired outfit that feels polished and casual at the same time. I love the chocolate brown accents with the bag, belt, and boots to perfectly take us into fall. Yet again, another pair that is perfect for dressing up or down!
most asked questions
Are wide leg jeans flattering?
Yes! Wide leg jeans can actually make your legs look longer and your silhouette more balanced. The trick is to highlight your waist—tuck in your top, choose a cropped jacket, or add a belt to break up the volume. You also want to balance proportions…if your jeans are on the baggy side, opt for a fitted top or structured jacket for the best balance.
What shoes go best with wide leg jeans?
I usually recommend shoes with a little bit of height (block heels, wedges, or heeled boots) to streamline the look. I love a pointed or almond-shaped toe, in a similar color to the wash of jean, for an added lengthening effect. That said, sleek sneakers and loafers can look just as chic for everyday outfits.
Can petite women wear wide leg jeans?
Absolutely! Just make sure the inseam works for your height—no bunching at the bottom. You want your jeans to hit 1/2″ – 3/4″ off the floor. High-rise cuts are especially flattering on petites because they elongate the legs.
