Welcome back to another installment of Vogue’s Most Dressed: 2025 Cannes Film Festival edition. We’re not here to say that anyone is the best—or worst—dressed, just that they’ve caught our eye with their outré, bold, and downright glamorous clothing choices over the course of the festival.
Most Dressed is awarded for achievements in both quality and quantity. Take Kirsten Stewart, who only wore four (Chanel) looks at the festival. But in her pink tulle overskirt and her white short suit with a matching baseball cap, it’s safe to say she has our attention. On the other side of the coin, juror Jeremy Strong is pushing the limits of monochromatic dressing in a never-ending parade of brown, peach, and sage green suiting.
Thanks to its high-octane glamour, the Croisette is always a sight to behold. But with the recent, controversial dress code crackdown, we were curious to see how celebrities would fare with their fashion choices sans nudity, volume, and trains. (I don’t know about you, but all of these rules strike me as terribly un-French.) Some, like Heidi Klum in a sweeping floral Elie Saab dress, chose to ignore the rules altogether, while Helen Mirren let her accessories do the heavy lifting. Isabelle Huppert, meanwhile, is probably making the powers that be reconsider if denim should be allowed on the carpet. Stay tuned for next year…

Elle Fanning
Fanning lived up to her Queen of Cannes title in the lead-up to her film, Sentimental Value. While she hit the red carpet looking every part a movie star in her beaded Gucci dress, she’s also embraced silliness. She nodded to Charli xcx’s declaration that it would be (among other things) a “Joachim Trier Summer.” So what’s a Gen Z superstar to do but wear a “Joachim Trier Summer” tee—from an 11-year-old T-shirt designer, no less? Fanning knows that fashion has power, and if her T-shirt gets butts in movie theater seats, then by all means, embrace the graphic tee!
Alexander Skarsgård
Thigh-high leather boots. Need we say more?
Jeremy Strong
A member of the jury, our favorite eldest boy has been putting around the French seaside town throughout the festival, be it at film premieres or lunch with the mayor of Cannes. He’s graciously given us a rainbow of desaturated, monochromatic looks to feast on, from a dusty rose corduroy set to a sage tuxedo. We can only imagine he has a fabulous muted suit in store for the closing ceremony.
Halle Berry
Quoth the Backgrid caption of a photo of Halle Berry wearing a black micro-sequin short suit: “Halle Berry dons another chic ensemble as she exits her hotel ahead of another event.” As a member of the jury, Berry indeed requires many chic ensembles for her many events, be it a voluminous high-low Celia Kritharioti dress, a pair of long jorts, or a nearly-100-carat Chopard snake necklace.
Isabelle Huppert
While Huppert is no stranger to out-of-the-box red carpet looks (this is the woman who kickstarted the bathrobe trend last Cannes, after all!), she has really outdone herself this time. From her arrival at the Nice Airport in oversized, chunky Balenciaga sneakers, to the backwards denim dress with a massive emerald brooch she wore on the Croisette, Huppert is eschewing traditional glamour for Demna’s more subversive vision. But can we expect a “no denim” rule at Cannes next year?
Cara Delevingne
The model has really run the gamut in her brief stint at the festival. Be it her choppy black wig, glamorous evening dress complete with opera gloves and a hulking emerald, or her masc off-duty look, Delevingne has managed to say a lot with a smaller quantity of clothing than most.
Helen Mirren
What was that Coco Chanel quote about taking off one accessory before you leave the house? Helen Mirren hasn’t heard that one—or, more likely, she just doesn’t care.
Irina Shayk
From her shield shades and dad shoes combo to her roster of red carpet dresses, Shayk owned Cannes—even without a film to promote. Actors, step up your game!
Heidi Klum
The model and television personality flouted the newly instated no-volume, no-trains rule at the Opening Ceremony in a pink Elie Saab dress that most definitely had both volume and a train. But that was far from Klum’s only eye-catching look. Even her arrival at the Nice Airport caught our eye, thanks to her camo and alligator Birkin bag and her Mickey Mouse hoodie.
Kristen Stewart
Stewart, making her directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, has turned Cannes into a Chanel-fest. On her first day alone, she wore a pink tweet short suit with a tulle overskirt and ended it with a white short suit with a baseball cap and micro tie.
Eva Longoria
Longoria has more than leaned into the sparkle at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. On the red carpet, she opted for a disco ball-esque Tamara Ralph number and a teal sequined Elie Saab gown (both of which were outfitted with rule-breaking trains). Meanwhile, she celebrated her L’Oréal ambassadorship in a stained glass Zuhair Murad dress. For Longoria, more is definitely more.
Juliette Binoche
As president of the jury, we wouldn’t expect anything less than some serious looks from Binoche. Her white suit at the Eddington premiere remains the ’fit to beat in my book, but she’s in a league of her own with her asymmetrical Matrix-esque leather, purple hosiery, and sheer white cape.
Alessandra Ambrosio
While she’s spent more time off the Croisette than on, the model knows how to turn any stretch of space into a runway, from the Nice Airport—where she showed off her gray Kelly bag—to extracurricular red carpets, like the Red Sea Film Foundation’s “Women In Cinema” Gala, where she wore a highly embellished black Zuhair Murad dress.
Diane Kruger
While Kruger may not have the most looks in terms of quantity, she is giving us a lot to work with in her oversized banana yellow Givenchy dress and her layered lilac Prada dress. She even channeled her inner Black Swan in a strapless tulle Maje dress and white lace tights.
John C. Reilly
Everything is bigger in…Cannes? The actor is no stranger to headwear, but the festival saw a newfound commitment to headwear that’s earned comparisons to Colonel Sanders and Doug Dimmadome alike. Bless whoever is trying to watch a film with that hat sitting right in front of them.
Mitchell Akat Maruko Raan
Sometimes one look is all it takes, as South Sudanese model Mitchell Akat Maruko Raan reminded us at the premiere of Sirât, where she wore a full-body leopard print look—complete with a 3D head.
