Here’s What Vogue Editors Are Eyeing Ahead of the Black Friday Sales

All products featured on Vogue are independently selected by our editors. However, we may earn affiliate revenue on this article and commission when you buy something.

Bursting virtual carts are perks—and hazards—of every Vogue editor’s job. We’re the kind of people who will stay up late scrolling our favorite retailers’ new arrivals drops; sometimes for work, sometimes for fun. So although we’ve been known to splash out on a cashmere sweater or designer bag throughout the year, we’re not immune to a good sale. And Black Friday is, famously, a very good sale. Ahead of the long weekend (which is just around the corner on November 28), we decided to get a head start; why wait to put together a wishlist when there’s already so much to peruse? Our editors’ early Black Friday picks span fashion, beauty, and so much more.

Our carts are full, and they are varied. (Off-the-runway investments, on-trend finds, and a plethora of wardrobe essentials that span everything from Leset to The Row all came up in our poll.) From our senior shopping writer’s maternity must-haves to our beauty shopping editor’s silver-tinged decor wants, you’ll find plenty to inspire your own shopping—and gifting—list.

Without further ado, here’s everything our team has bookmarked in hopes that it’s on sale; plus a few early deals too good to pass up. Be sure to check back on Black Friday weekend for more (official) sales.

Cortne Bonilla, senior shopping writer

“As we ease into the holiday season, and the new year, I’m also easing into a new part of life: motherhood! This year’s shopping list has switched over from skincare essentials to cozy comforts like a wear-all-day nightgown, Boppy pillow, nourishing skincare, and slippers.”

Talia Abbas, shopping director

“There’s no shortage of ways I’ve convinced myself over the years that my wardrobe incomplete without this bag or that sweater, but then I’ll inexplicably mull over a more sensible home purchase for the better part of the year and hope the desire dissipates (it never does). I suspect the only thing that can snap me out of this deluded state is the semblance of a good deal, as is this case now: both Armadillo and Louis Poulsen are holding sales and I have dreamt of owning one of their jute rugs and beautiful table lamps for longer than I’m willing to admit.”

Elly Leavitt, lifestyle editor, shopping

“I’m going to be honest: These sales stress me out. I do not enjoy a deadline, nor do I enjoy the idea that I’m missing out on the deal of a lifetime—but this year, instead of ignoring them, I’m going in with a focused plan. And that plan is, simply, gifts. A tiny espresso maker for the consummate hostess in a tiny apartment; a set of beautiful napkins for the aesthetically motivated gourmand; an electric blue sweater for my friend who has never worn a neutral in her life.”

“Thanksgiving weekend is the best time to get your holiday shopping out of the way with all the sales going on, so I’ll be spending most of my Black Friday and Cyber Monday online shopping. First stop will be Dorsey to get myself some pair of their lab-grown earrings; then, to the homeware section to get my mom some new kitchenware from her favorite store, Porta. It’s also the best time to stock up on essentials, like your favorite laundry detergent (my go-to is from Koala Eco).”

“I am preparing to go full hibernation mode post-Thanksgiving, so the cozier I can make my life, the better. I’m still decorating my new apartment, so I have plenty of bits and bobs to check off my list. Perhaps this Zara Home table lamp, which indulges my ongoing silver fixation. And for days when I dare to step out of my comfy abode, Lisa Yang’s super soft cashmere sweater is pajama-adjacent.”

“For Black Friday, I’m eyeing a refresh of my wardrobe staples. Every year, I end up adding another pair of gloves to my collection. A work and travel tote is a non-negotiable, and you can never have enough coats. Beyond the fashion finds, I’m stocking up on a few self-care essentials for the family: Charvet slippers for my husband (which I fully intend to borrow), and the Carepod humidifier because New York apartments are always overheated during the winter.”

Conçetta Ciarlo, beauty writer, shopping

“Annually, at exactly this time of year, I realize that I have no clothes to wear for the colder months—or at least nothing that’s flattering. A true Leo, I thrive in dresses, strappy sandals, skirts, and short (or no) sleeves. It leaves me feeling pretty blah about getting dressed for the office, or anywhere really; but this Black Friday is going to change all that. Wardrobe revamp incoming, at a much more budget-friendly price!”

“I’ve been coveting a pair of Salomon sneakers ever since they became an It-girl shoe last year; not just because they’re on-trend, but because I love that the styling possibilities are effortless and infinite. I will wear them with everything from sporty leggings to tailored trousers. The Hope jacket from The Frankie Shop is another item that’s been on my list for quite some time. I made the mistake of letting it sit in my cart for too long last season, and I missed my chance—lesson learned. Newer to my shopping cart are red velvet ballet flats from Margaux, and this incredibly elegant tennis bracelet by Alexandra Beth (which I am very excited to add to my wrist stack)!”

Minty Mellon, shopping market editor

“This Black Friday, I’m focusing on elevated essentials—the pieces that make everyday dressing effortless. I’m hoping to refresh my go-to staples with items that add a subtle fashion twist: Toteme’s beloved scarf coat for instant polish and Liffner’s black calf-hair clutch to give the simplest look some texture. Think of it as a wardrobe reset, built on timeless pieces that feel special.”

Margaux Anbouba, senior beauty & wellness editor

“Christmas is where I really lean into the strange little obsessions I’ve had over the year but didn’t want to invest in myself… I ask for them as gifts, instead! I went back and forth on whether my first Fendi Baguette should be a classic and eternally-wearable neutral or something fun and oh-so-nostalgic of the history of the bag… and clearly, fun won. Lime green is just one of the colors I look good in according to my color analysis as a moonlit winter (baby pink and black are also on there!), so this felt like the perfect entry Baguette pour moi. Cardigans have certainly been one of my obsessions this year, and this Simone Rocha one is far prettier that any of the thrifted ones I’ve pulled for myself. A freaky shoe always speaks for itself, and this lip balm has a little charm on is, reminiscent of the ’00 Dior designs—which is when this bag was released. They will really look perfect together.”
