Fall is officially here, and it finally feels like it! The past few days have been beautifully crisp and cool, and it’s put me in the mood for all things cozy. So today, I’m rounding up 25 casual fall outfits for 2025—some old favorites, some newer combinations—but all easy outfit formulas I rely on year after year.
I pretty much live in jeans, so denim is the foundation for most of these casual fall looks. Of course, you can always swap them for pants if you need more work-friendly options. Feel free to mix things up—add layers, change accessories, or substitute pieces to suit your personal style.
For anything that’s sold out, I linked similar items and included a few more affordable alternatives for the pricier pieces. But the goal here is to inspire you to shop your closet first, so hopefully it won’t be too frustrating if a few of the exact items aren’t available anymore.
Easy Outfit Formulas to Wear on Repeat This Fall
#1. Brown is having a major moment this season, and I’m here for it! I paired a chocolate coated v-neck tee with blue jeans and leopard-print Mary Jane flats. This look was perfect for a warmer fall day, but any elevated brown top or sweater would work. I added bold hoop earrings and layered a brown beaded necklace with a gold link necklace to draw attention to the face. A belt and classic trench coat finish the look with a polished touch.

#5. This is a more elevated take on that classic fall outfit formula, featuring an evergreen utility jacket in a longer, leaner silhouette. I wore it with a white tee and dressed it up a bit with trouser jeans and cognac booties. To pull it all together, I coordinated my bag and belt with the boots for a cohesive, polished look.

#6. While green is the most traditional color for a utility jacket, there are so many great alternatives out there now. I’m loving this raisin-colored utility jacket, which blends tones of burgundy, plum, and brown for a rich fall look that feels both modern and unexpected.
I layered it over a black ribbed tank and paired them with washed black wide-leg jeans in a full length that keeps the look long and lean. I finished the outfit with brown suede boots—they subtly coordinate with the jacket (and were also the best option since my black boots weren’t quite tall enough). A black bag and belt ties everything together.

#9. Here’s another take on the hoodie outfit formula, this time with a camel cashmere hoodie layered under a black quilted vest for warmth and contrast. I paired it with straight-leg jeans and rust suede sneakers — fun pop of color right where it matters. Colored and boldly hued sneakers are a big fall 2025 trend (think yellows, cranberries, and richer tones) so it’s an easy way to feel current.

#10. This is a look you’ve seen from me many times, but it’s just one of those combinations that always works. I paired a black cowl-neck top with black wide-leg ankle jeans and added dressy black suede booties for a streamlined, monochromatic base. To finish the look, I layered on an oxblood leather jacket in a modern silhouette—an easy way to add a rich fall color and a bit of edge while keeping the outfit polished and versatile.

#15. Speaking of leopard pumps… while a third piece always elevates an outfit, I often keep it simple. You can’t go wrong with a black top, blue jeans, and leopard pumps—it’s classic and effortlessly stylish. The key is to choose pieces with interesting details, whether it’s a print (like these shoes), texture (the ribbed top), or thoughtful design elements like a collar or buttons. I carried a brown bag instead of the more expected black to add contrast, and I like how it ties in with the brown tones in the shoes for a cohesive finish.

#16. Stripes are trending big time again this fall, and I’m still loving my Rails Geneva Cardigan—going on its third season in my closet! It’s the perfect mix of classic and current, and it pairs beautifully with both black and blue denim for an easy, polished look. In both of these outfits, I added black boots to tie in with the black stripes in the sweater and keep the look cohesive from top to bottom.

#23. Cropped barn jackets are a big trend this fall, and this one has a waxed coating that adds a cool texture contrast to the outfit. I styled it with wide-leg jeans, a cashmere tee, and heeled ankle boots for a mix of rugged and refined. Mine is from last year, but I linked a few similar styles below that capture the same look.

#24. When in doubt, I love to put together an all-black outfit. The key is to mix textures so it doesn’t fall flat and to accessorize thoughtfully for the occasion. Here, the luxe knit, leather jacket, washed black denim, and suede booties come together beautifully for an edgy-luxe vibe. I finished the look with oversized sunglasses, a chunky chain-link bracelet, and a black leather belt with a gold buckle—small details that make the outfit feel polished and intentional.

#25. This is the oldest outfit in the post—going all the way back to fall of 2020—but I still love it and would absolutely wear it again today (just in my new, slightly bigger sizes… #thanksmenopause). The grey cashmere turtleneck gives it a luxe feel, while the leather jacket adds an edgy touch. I styled it with washed black jeans and sneakers to keep the look casual yet elevated—proof that great outfit formulas really do stand the test of time.
