Okashicon 2023 hosted 4 different J-fashion brands in their fashion show. The fashion show took place ion the evening of July 7, 2023 at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Pflugerville. After the first part of the Okashiscon‘s fashion show, the guest of honor 6%dokidoki was the final brand to walk the runway.

6%dokidoki is a Japanese fashion brand by renowned artist Sebastian Masuda who is also known as the father of kawaii. Their bold and colorful decora style makes them one of the most iconic Harajuku fashion brands out there. This was the first time 6%dokidoki visited Texas!

The fashion show featured pieces from not only 6%dokidoki, but also some of their related lines such as 6-D by Sebastian Masuda and Sebastian Masuda ART. Some accessories were by Devilish, a Taiwanese accessories brand that 6%dokidoki also stocks in their shop.

After the models walked the stage, designer Sebastian Masuda came out and greeted the audience in his equally as colorful suit.

Unfortunately, we faced technical difficulties with our camera in the latter half of the fashion show, so we weren’t able to capture all of the models on stage. Thankfully 6%dokidoki allowed us to photograph the models after the show!

Look 1

The first model wore a mostly black coordinate where the colorful accents really pop through! This outfit is perfect for a daily masculine look. Some of the items he wore were:

Look 2

The second model wore a black and pink outfit that featured a lot of different layers. This coordinate mixed both 6% and 6-D pieces. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 3

With another pink and black outfit, the third model had a more casual type of layering using a few items over an oversized dress shirt. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 4

The fourth model wore a mature look with items from 6-D. The outfit showed that pastel colors can still be worn in an elegant way. The cascading ruffles of the skirt really emphasize height.

Look 5

The fifth model’s outfit shouted colorful maximalism in neon blue. This outfit featured the most number of items worn. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 6

The sixth model wore a cute pastel outfit that encompassed pastels, kawaii, and simplicity. The shoulder frills add an extra pop to the outfit, but even without them, it would be a cute outfit. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 7

One of the charms of 6%dokidoki is that they aren’t afraid to mix patterns. The seventh model’s coordinate incorporated 3 different patterns inspired by rave culture. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 8

Look 8 complemented look 7 perfectly since they both utilized a similar color palette and leg warmers. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 9

The ninth model wore a simple dress that was amped up with a lot of accessories. To change the look of the dress, they added a belt to cinch and clear vinyl overlay to add dimension to the overall look. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 10

The tenth model wore a futuristic space-inspired coordinate. The neon accents and vinyl accessories gave an out of this world effect. Some of the items worn in this outfit were:

Look 11

Last, but not least Japanese fashion model Haruka Kurebayashi also returned to Okashicon to model in the fashion show again! Her first guest appearance at Okashicon was at the 2018 con. She is known for her colorful decora style and this outfit really proved she can pull it off.

She was wearing a mix of pastel and neon colors

We also managed to get some group shots at the end of the show. All of the models next to each other really made a bold visual impact.
