Have these past couple of months of this new year been as weird for you as they have been for me?? I attribute it to a couple of things. First, our weather can’t make up its mind here in the south! We have had snow TWICE in Georgia since January, which is unheard of, but now it’s currently 70 degrees. Or, maybe it’s the wave of sickness that has stricken our entire household! This has caused all sorts of commotion and tears from my family because we have missed out on athletic games, events, and social outings, and we all have felt just plain rotten! So today, I am sharing 5 makeup products that will elevate your spring mood board!

And as I type this, knowing it’ll post on March 1st, I’m feeling (or trying to manifest) a positive shift in mindset that warmer temps are coming, and the coughs/aches are exiting the building! So as I’ve been trying to keep my head above water, and on the days I haven’t felt good at all, one thing has been on my side (in addition to my incredibly sweet dog Taco)…and that is my MAKEUP ROUTINE.

For me, doing makeup always brightens my spirits. It’s the routine aspect that calms me. It is also that personal attention I am giving myself that brings joy when I see the transformation from my bare colorless face into something more fabulous and interesting!

Brighten Your Mood with Spring Makeup
This month, I want to get you excited to welcome in the new spring season (officially on March 20th) with a few new makeup drops – some brand new to the market, and some just new to me!

These brands and items have been knocking my socks off, day after day, and they’re products that every face, and concern, can benefit from in the warmer months to come. So no matter where your needs fall, be assured that your next must-have is already out there.
I have narrowed down your search to just 5 of my current favorite March beauty musts…

Smooth & Glow Serum
Youth To the People Superfood SkinDrip Smooth & Glow Serum, $39. Makes sense for me to mention this skin prep product first. I just received this in a PR box and am already halfway done with the bottle! I do love a great serum anyway. Serums are usually lightweight formulations that deliver more potent concentrations of active ingredients than moisturizers.
My skin immediately looks super glossy and plump once I’ve slathered this on. Even my 14-year-old daughter says my skin “looks bouncy!” every time I have this on bare skin before any makeup is applied. This is a multi-benefit serum with peptides and niacinamide, that can be used alone to prime for a natural glow before makeup, or add in your moisturizer and foundation for an amped up dewy finish!
Hydrating Gel Skin Tint
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Hydrating Gel Skin Tint, $36. This is a brand spanking new product – just launched this past week! And I am OBsessed!! In keeping with the dewy skin theme, this light to medium coverage, non-comedogenic hydrating gel skin tint, holds for 12-hours – no additional primer needed. I don’t want to put on anything else but this product lately. I’m wearing shade 6 here. And their special blending brush, $20, is a MUST that buffs in the product just beautifully. I look forward to applying this combo everyday and seeing my skin magically transform!

Lash Extensions Mascara
Milani Highly Rated Lash Extensions Mascara, $13. It’s been called a solid dupe to the Instagram famous Thrive Cosmetics Tubing mascara,$26, everyone talks so much about, but is half the price (and not as clumpy IMO). I have been impressed with the whole tubing genre of mascaras. Mainly because they do not smudge at all on me, and then you can literally remove them with just your fingers and warm water! It’s kind of wild. These formulas literally wrap a tube around each hair to give the look of lash extensions – and this stuff makes them look so very long!
Buttermelt Blush
NYX Buttermelt Blushes, $10. I spoke about these in my recent Drugstore Must Haves post and have bought 3 more shades since then, because they’re just that GOOD. The name is a perfect description because they do apply “like butta,” smooth with a soft matte yet illuminating finish! This shade I’m wearing in today’s post is called “U Know Butta,” it’s a great spring makeup color. It reminds me of a tad brighter version of the iconic Nars “Orgasm,” that reads like a warm pinky-peach.

This formula is offered in so many fun and gorgeous shades for spring, so take your pick! They also make a Buttermelt bronzer, which is next on my list to try!

Tatcha Lip Tint
Tatcha Kissu Lip Tint with SPF 25, $34. I’m about to spend a lot of time outside watching my son play varsity baseball, and I never go anywhere without lipstick. And since our lips are often neglected when it comes to sun protection, but yet they’re super vulnerable to drying out and sunburn, why wouldn’t more companies make lip products with color and SPF??

Finally, Tatcha does something about this void in the market where there aren’t many options. And this one is such a grown up, beautiful product, with luxury packaging. I’m wearing shade “Camellia” which is a soft wearable red – a perfect option for your spring makeup routine. It feels very hydrating but with plenty of color. I just wish they offered more than 3 shades, but all 3 seem very wearable.

The Rest of My Look Details
No spring outfit is complete without a denim jacket that has puffed shoulders! You can throw it over tank tops and dresses and it levels up the outfit for chilly nights. It’s the perfect girly addition to a staple piece. My Gap iconic denim jacket, $45, is currently on MAJOR sale so snatch it before it’s gone. I’m wearing a medium. // These $8 Target ribbed tanks are super comfy and I own 3 of them already, wearing a small, they’re stretchy. Good color choices and love the striped ones. // Headbands are a fun accessory to project a bit of youthfulness! Again, Target is crushing it all of the patterned options here, $10, for spring looks like my cherry print one I’m wearing here.

My eyeshadow is a recommendation from a reader here on SAACA! Thanks Nancy for reminding me I already owned the Laura Mercier Caviar shadow stick in “Cobblestone,” $33. It’s such an easy taupe shade to pull off and these LM sticks do not fade! // Similar cream track pants from Aritzia that ooze comfort, $75, you’ll wear them with all of your tops!
Are you ready for spring makeup and wardrobes yet? Or are you still enjoying the colder weather? I’d love to know where you live – south, north, east or west?!
