2025 Engagement Ring Trends to Shop, Based On Your Zodiac Sign

There’s a reason “What’s your sign?” has been a go-to first date question for decades. Comparing birth charts is an easy way to suss out compatibility and overall alignment (which is why Co-Star has become a second-tier dating app, in its own right). Once you have found your perfect match, the stars can still provide useful guidance—particularly, during the pre-nuptial era.

The wedding industry, in general, has begun centering personalization, over cookie-cutter traditions. Channeling each of your zodiac signs is a great way to add personalized touches, whether that’s via your chosen wedding dress trend or your actual wedding date. Nicole Wegman, CEO and founder of online diamond retailer, Ring Concierge says engagement rings are one of the best places to implement aspects of your zodiac.

“This year, engagement rings are all about personalization and unexpected detail. Couples aren’t just looking for a ring—they want something that reflects their style and feels uniquely theirs,” she tells InStyle. “People are embracing designs that feel meaningful, whether that’s a bold, modern setting or a timeless classic with a twist.”

In engagement ring-speak, that means: boring solitaires are officially out, making way for more unique options. “We’re seeing a shift toward more distinctive settings, bold bands, and unconventional stones that make a statement,” Wegman continues. “We’re also seeing more demand for dual bands, which create a cool stacked look, and chunkier bands that have a bold, sculptural feel. Colored gemstones are also becoming more popular, adding personality and a fresh take on traditional styles.”

Ahead, Wegman breaks down these trends and more—plus, which one is right for you.

Aries: Dual Band

Marrow

Aries are known for their assertive and courageous nature, “so a bold, standout ring is a must,” Wegman tells InStyle. She recommends statement-making styles, like “a chunky cigar band or dual-band design [that] reflects their confident, fearless approach to style.”

Taurus: Hidden Halo

Even next to the most over-the-top star signs (I’m looking at you, Leos), Tauruses are known for their love of the finer things. Naturally, that “eye for luxury and craftsmanship,” really shows itself, once it comes time for diamond shopping. Wegman says: “An ultra-luxe design featuring a larger diamond and a hidden halo embodies their love for indulgence—something they’ll cherish forever.”

Gemini: Toi et Moi

Berlinger

“With their playful, ever-changing style, Geminis need a ring that keeps things interesting,” Wegman tells InStyle. And, in the fine jewelry world, there’s no ring more playful than the cheeky toi et moi—making it the perfect choice for the multifaceted air sign. “A two-stone setting perfectly reflects their dual nature, offering versatility and a little unexpected flair.”

Cancer: Organic Shapes

Hernan Herdez

Though finding a meaningful engagement ring is a feat for all, it’s of particular importance for Cancers, says Wegman. “Cancers are sentimental and deeply romantic, so their ring should feel just as personal. Soft curves [and] vintage-inspired details give an heirloom feel that aligns with their nostalgic side.”

Leo: Marquise Cut

Vrai

Always the center of attention, it’s only natural that Leo’s ring feels just as opulent and eye-grabbing. “An elongated diamond like a marquise commands attention, while a pavé diamond band adds even more drama to the look,” she says. This particular cut is also a celebrity favorite (Selena Gomez chose the style for her forever piece)—which makes it perfect for ostentatious Leos. “Leos love the spotlight and their engagement rings should match that energy.”

Virgo: Emerald Cut

To the detail-oriented and analytical Virgo, angular stones—like the emerald cut—will feel particularly satisfying. “Virgos appreciate clean lines and refined details, making a classic emerald-cut diamond—with a sleek, simple band—their perfect match,” Wegman says. “It’s elegant, timeless, and exudes quiet luxury.”

Libra: Textured Bands

Wedding bands are also a great way to add a little texture to your bridal stack—options like a ribbed or octagonal feel unique, but still simplistic—striking just the right balance for a Libra. Wegman says: “Libras are all about balance and beauty, so a classic shape set in a more unique band is a natural fit. Something like this fluted solitaire offers a modern twist, while still feeling harmonious and effortlessly chic.”

Scorpio: Vintage-Inspired Bands

Arielle Ratner

Scorpios are the edgy girls of the zodiac world, and as such, their wedding jewelry should cause a scene, Wegman says. “Mysterious and intense, Scorpios need an edgier ring that reflects their boldness.” More specifically, she recommends: “a chunky band with sculptural details or a deep-hued gemstone, like a rich ruby or dark sapphire,” to further play into the sign’s rebellious nature.

Sagittarius: Yellow Diamonds

Minkai Jewels

A fire sign through and through, Sagittarius are adventure-seeking and free-spirited in all aspects of life, including their taste in fine jewelry. Wegman recommends shopping with this in mind. “Sagittarians need a bold ring that stands out—something like a vibrant yellow diamond perfectly reflects their optimistic and energetic nature,” she says.

Capricorn: Signet Ring

Grew and Co

According to Wegman, “Capricorns appreciate tradition and timeless design,” which means a more stately ring style—like the signet—will fit this earth sign best. “Its classic, yet sophisticated, look aligns with their enduring sense of style,” she continues.

Aquarius: Floating Diamond

Kimai

“Aquarians love to break the mold,” Wegman says. “So an unconventional setting like a floating diamond or asymmetrical design suits them best.” Still, Aquarians don’t have to subscribe to these exact trends. Any unique shape will do, Wegman says, including “an east-west cut or a geometric bezel setting.”

Pisces: Bubble Bezel

Arielle Ratner

For water signs, like Pisces, an aquatic-inspired bubble frame will play into their love of the sea. “Dreamy and romantic, Pisces are drawn to soft, ethereal designs,” she says. “A ring with organic shapes or a colored gemstone, like an aquamarine, perfectly captures their whimsical, artistic nature.”
